I am the concerned owner of two LS650's - a '95 and a '97. Both start and run well
but they both make noises. The '95 has 9,000 miles and seems to make
valve ticking noises as well as a bit of low end knock. The '97 has
3,000 miles and makes a really noticeable low end knock. Neither bike
displays any kind of camshaft wear that would lead me to believe it had
been run low on oil. Compresson and power is good in both bikes and I
have adjusted the valves in both. I even tried heavier oil (SAE 50) in
the '97 to see if the noise quieted any with no change noticed.

I know that 650cc piston has a lot of punch. Are these noises normal
for the Savage? Anybody got any ideas as to the cause and repair?
